It's that time again—midweek college football with three games that don't exactly scream "quality matchups." With only seven total wins between these six teams, there are still opportunities to make money. Let’s dive into the picks!
Troy at South Alabama (-11)
Bet: Fluff Bothwell Over 68.5 Rushing Yards
Troy's defense is as soft as they come, allowing 181.8 rushing yards per game, and four running backs have torched them for over 100 yards already. South Alabama uses a two-back system with Kentrel Bullock and Fluff Bothwell, but Bothwell is the big-play back. Bullock may start, but Bothwell should have a field day against this Troy defense. Both backs may go over, but I’m backing Fluff for the better bet.
Kennesaw State at Middle Tennessee State (-8.5)
Bet: Kennesaw State +8.5
Offense will be hard to find in this one. Both Kennesaw and MTSU have struggled to move the ball all year. MTSU is the better team overall, but the spread has been moving in Kennesaw’s favor, which makes me think they can keep it close or even pull off an upset. In what should be a low-scoring affair, I like the Owls to cover the 8.5 points.
Louisiana Tech (-11.5) at New Mexico State
Bet: Under 49.5 Total Points
New Mexico State has one of the worst offenses in college football, relying solely on a weak ground game with no passing attack to speak of. Louisiana Tech’s defense allows just 93 rushing yards per game, which should shut down NMST’s only strength. While LA Tech did explode for 48 points last week, don’t be fooled—this offense is still bad. This game screams under, with both teams likely to struggle to put points on the board.
