We are back to our money maker, Thursday Night Football! The track record has been wonderful on Thursday, and according to my Pikkit record, I am up 29 units on Thursdays since the NFL's start. Keep in mind, that does include a couple college football games, and maybe an occasional MLB bet, but my Thursday has done me well. Let's continue that success tonight!
The Matchup:
Thursday Night Football, two shitty teams, a tale as long as time. I can't wait until we actually get a good matchup for a Thursday Night game, but I guess this will suffice. The biggest story in tonight's game, and maybe the NFL, is the return of Cardinals star wide receiver, Deandre Hopkins. Hopkins was suspended for the first 6 weeks of this season for PED's. Cardinals' fans are hoping that his return will spark the stagnant offense that is averaging just 19 points a game. The Cardinals have fallen to 2-4 on the season and are desperate to get back on track and save the season.
Likewise, the Saints are in a similar position. Injuries in the QB position have really hurt the Saints this year, and they have struggled to find any sort of success. With a 2-4 record as well, New Orleans is desperate for a win. Andy Dalton currently holds the reigns at QB, but Winston's return may be near, not like that will guarantee success, but it could give the Saints the spark they need.
Game Predictions and Bets:
The Saints are a 2.5-point favorite on the road tonight, and the over/under is set at 43.5 points. A spread this small is tough to bet on, especially with Hopkins returning tonight. There is a lot of uncertainty how the Cardinals will look with him back. The Saints may not win a lot, but they do seem to stay close in almost every game they play. I am predicting a similar scenario where the game is back and forth for its entirety. Hopkins return will boost the Cardinals offensive production most likely, but I would still lean the under in this game.
I have made my first bet with hopes that my prediction of low scoring is true. The bet is Will Lutz o1.5 Field Goals. The Saints may not have success getting into the endzone, but I'm trusting that they can move the ball down the field and get into field goal range. I predict Lutz to get 4 field goals tonight, so this bet in my mind should be a good bet.
Next, I have added two different parlays, one risk-free and one on PrizePicks. The risk-free bet is as follows:
ARI ML
o33.5 points
Taysom Hill u49.5 rush Yds
Hopkins 4+ receptions
(+215)
A four-leg parlay at only +215 is a little worrisome, but I have a hard time seeing this missing. My only concern would be Arizona MoneyLine. I believe this game can go either way, but I'm trusting on Hopkins to give Arizona the edge. The game should easily go over the alternative line of 33.5 points and Hopkins will be Murray's main target. Hill is very on and off but has had only two games over 39 yards. I think he will have success, but don't see him getting over 50 rushing yards.
My PrizePicks parlay is by far my favorite play of the day. It is three-teamer +400 odds and is as follows:
Taysom Hill o4.5 fantasy points
Ingram o7 rushing attempts
Murray o34.5 passing attempts
This bet in my eyes is a no brainer. Taysom should easily surpass 4.5 fantasy points. He is too involved in the offense to not get that total, and I really believe he will get a TD tonight which is an automatic 6 points. Both Ingram and Murray have gone over these totals in 4 of the last 5 games. The pass game for Arizona will be in full swing tonight as the Cardinals introduce Hopkins back into the NFL. I don't think the Saints will have much success in the air, so I'm banking on them to use Ingram a lot, at least in the first half.
I did add one crazy correct score just for shits and giggles. It does go against my Cardinals ML prediction, but its +8,000 odds so this isn't hitting. There is no science or reasoning behind this, just a wild guess:
ARI 20: 22 Saints
Potential Bets:
I will be taking a couple more bets in this game, I just haven't committed to them yet. Here are some more potential bets:
Taysom Hill ATD
u43.5
NO +3
Rondale Moore u47.5 Rec Yds
I will keep my twitter updated with my bets for tonight when I place them!
As always, Godspeed, Good luck, and Good Scores!
